Question by crystal_wade06: What will stop the oil spill if BP isnt able to do so?
I don’t know much about off shore drilling, but what happens if BP is unable to stop the oil spill? Does the oil keep spilling out, until there is no oil left in that spot?
I am aware of the damage to our wildlife and environment, just wanted to know when will the oil stop on its own if we are unable to stop it?

An oil deposit has the potential to actively emit oil for decades, I believe the average well lasts for somewhere around 30-40 years before it is depleted.
